Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated After School Program Coordinator to lead our youth after-school activities. In this role, you will organize and supervise engaging activities that promote learning, social development, and fun for children of various ages. (K-4) Your leadership will ensure a safe, inclusive environment where every child can thrive and grow.

Duties

• Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of youth-centered activities including homework help, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises
• Supervise children during program hours to ensure safety and positive behavior management
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that supports childhood development and social skills
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR procedures, and emergency response guidelines
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation, teamwork, and personal growth
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about children’s progress and any concerns
• Lead outdoor activities and coordinate special events or camp-style experiences when applicable

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational group settings
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
• Experience in special education or youth development programs is highly desirable
• Ability to lead group activities with enthusiasm and confidence
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
• Demonstrated team leadership abilities with a proactive approach to program coordination
• Prior experience in group childcare, elementary aged or camp environments is preferred
• Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
• Hours at either 1:30pm to 5:30 or 6pm or 2pm to 5:30 or 6:00pm

There are 5 elementat schools in Billerica. You could be assigned to anyone of them and on different days assigned to different schools if coverage is needed. Must have transportation and be willing to go to different sites.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
