After-School Program Instructor – Elementary Enrichment

Maestro Stars Academy is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and engaging instructors to join our elementary after-school program. We are hiring teachers who can lead classes in one or more enrichment areas, including Creative Arts, ELA, Math, STEAM, Theatre / Performing Arts, and other academic or creative subjects.

This is a great opportunity for teachers, substitute teachers, teaching artists, tutors, and other professionals who enjoy working with elementary-aged students and are looking for consistent part-time afternoon work.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, age-appropriate enrichment classes for elementary students
• Teach in one or more subject areas, such as: STEAM; creative arts, crafts, and design; ELA, reading, writing, vocabulary, and public speaking; math and academic enrichment; theatre, acting, improv, and musical theatre
• Follow provided curriculum and lesson materials
• Prepare materials and activities needed for class, as needed
• Maintain a positive, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Manage small groups of students and encourage active participation
• Communicate professionally with Maestro Stars staff
• Maintain a consistent weekly schedule

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children
• Teaching, tutoring, camp, childcare, enrichment, or classroom experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge or experience in at least one relevant subject area
• Comfortable leading and managing a group of students independently
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
• Energetic and able to make learning interactive and engaging
• Ability to commit to a consistent weekday afternoon schedule

Formal teaching credentials are not required. We welcome applicants with strong subject knowledge and relevant experience working with children.

Schedule

• Part-time
• Weekday after-school hours
• Typically afternoons, with exact days and hours based on program needs and instructor availability
• Opportunities may be available for instructors who can teach multiple subjects or multiple days per week
• Additional opportunities to teach at day camps and summer camps

Compensation

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience, qualifications, and subjects taught.

Maestro Stars Academy is a multidisciplinary educational academy in Cupertino offering music, performing arts, STEAM, academic enrichment, tutoring, camps, and after-school programming for children. Our after-school program combines academic learning with creative and hands-on enrichment activities in a supportive small-group environment.
