Aftercare Assistant (Part-Time)

The Tatnall School in Greenville, Delaware, is seeking Part-Time Extended Day Assistants for after school hours (3-6pm).

An Average Day

At the end of the school day, students are dismissed to Extended Day. The Extended Day team will greet students, take attendance, assist with homework and provide age-appropriate activities for children to safely engage in. Students participate in gross-motor play outdoors and intdoors and structured free play centers. The Extended Day Assistant is creative in planning activities and games and provides supervision during that time to make sure students are playing well together and being safe. Extended Day Assistants will communicate daily with program Diretor, as well as parents at pick up and drop off. Education degree or teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications:

• Ability to supervise and direct students effectively
• Ability to manage a classroom of 10-20 children
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Relevant experience working with children in a group setting
• At least a high school diploma
• At least 1 year experience working with children
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to provide a negative TB test administered less than 1 year prior
• Current first aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain

Work Schedule

Approximately Monday-Friday 3-5pm. The actual departure time will depend on the number of students and the needs of the program. Additional hours are available on Half Days and School's Out Days.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
