We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Aftercare Counselor to join our youth development team. Responsibilities

• Supervise children during afterschool hours, camp activities, or youth programs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Implement and maintain behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and social skills
• Facilitate age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, outdoor games, team-building exercises, and educational lessons
• Monitor child interactions to prevent conflicts and intervene using established behavior management protocols when necessary
• Provide first aid or CPR in emergency situations following proper first aid protocols and AED operation procedures
• Collaborate with team members to plan engaging youth group activities that support childhood development and personal growth
• Maintain accurate attendance records, incident reports, and activity logs to ensure compliance with safety standards

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
• Demonstrated classroom management skills and experience in behavior management techniques
• Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols required; certifications must be current
• Background in special education or childhood development is a plus
• Experience facilitating youth group activities or leading outdoor work projects is desirable
• Previous roles involving childcare, babysitting, theater experience with children, or working with students will be considered valuable
• Strong team leadership abilities combined with teaching experience with young children are essential for success in this role
