We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Head Technician to lead our automotive service team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily repair operations, ensure the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and repair, and foster a culture of excellence and safety. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the automotive repair team, ensuring all work meets quality standards and safety protocols.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
• Perform or oversee repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, powertrain systems, suspension components, brakes, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems.
• Manage vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and air brake system repairs.
• Ensure proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools to maximize efficiency.
• Review repair estimates, communicate with customers about repairs needed, and ensure transparent auto estimating practices.
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed; stay current with dealership-specific procedures including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and GM vehicle protocols when applicable.
• Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and conducting regular safety audits.
• Mentor technicians in technical skills development including automotive electrical systems, heavy equipment mechanics, and mechanical systems repair.
• Collaborate with management to optimize workflow processes and improve overall service department performance.

Experience

• Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership or similar environments.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems repair.
• Hands-on experience with diesel engines, transmissions (including automatic and manual), powertrain components, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts.
• Familiarity with ADAS calibration procedures and air brake systems is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technicians while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools required for comprehensive vehicle maintenance.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and auto estimating processes.
• Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with effective communication skills to coordinate repairs efficiently.
