Part-Time Afterschool Educator

Working Days: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 2:00pm–6:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Afterschool Educator to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide a safe, fun and welcoming environment for school-aged children during the afternoon. You will support children with their daily routines, encourage positive social interactions and provide a range of fun and engaging activities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children, enjoys being creative and active, and can build positive relationships with children and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and supervision for school-aged children.
• Create a safe, warm and welcoming afterschool environment.
• Support children as they arrive and settle into the service.
• Provide a variety of fun and age-appropriate activities.
• Encourage creative play, arts and crafts, games, reading and outdoor activities.
• Support children with homework and age-appropriate learning activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, kindness, sharing and respect.
• Support children's social, emotional and physical development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children.
• Encourage children's independence, confidence and self-esteem.
• Support children with additional needs and promote an inclusive environment.
• Communicate positively and professionally with parents and guardians.
• Maintain a clean, organised and stimulating environment.
• Ensure children are supervised and safe at all times.
• Follow all child safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality policies.
• Work closely with the wider team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
• Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development as required.

Desirable

• Previous experience working in an afterschool or school-age childcare setting.
• Relevant childcare qualification.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• First Aid training.
• Knowledge of child development and positive behaviour support.

Salary: Competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
