Afterschool’s Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Assistant to join our Afterschool's Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Applicants must be organised, proactive, and committed to supporting children's development through engaging activities and personalised care.

Required : 5 days per week Monday to Friday

Hours of work 1.30PM -6.00PM

Responsibilities:

• To assist in providing creative and appropriate play and learning opportunities
• To assist with the preparation and serving of healthy snacks
• To assist with the supervision of homework
• To create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children
• To work flexibly as part of the team, assisting and supporting colleagues as required.
• To be reliable and punctual
• To contribute to planning and preparation of a range of indoor and outdoor age appropriate activities
• Undertake any necessary training

Essential criteria :

• Level 2 or 3 in Childcare would be an advantage, or be willing to uptake the childcare qualification on starting employment.
• Experience of working with children in the 4-11 year old age group in a paid or unpaid capacity for a reasonable period of time.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety.
• Ability to interact calmly, enthusiastically and respectfully with team members, children and parents.
• Awareness of the need for confidentiality and boundaries
• Good standard of English and Maths
• Clean Full UK driver’s license

Desirable

• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Food Hygiene Certificate
• Safeguarding & Child Protection Certificate
