Afterschool Care Staff

Responsibilities

• Maintain a welcoming approach towards the children, providing a loving and nurturing environment.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and daily experiences.
• Follow all first aid protocols and be prepared to respond swiftly to medical emergencies
• Support children with special educational needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as needed.
• Collaborate with fellow staff to create a cohesive team environment that promotes fun, learning, and safety.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, tutoring, or youth activities is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development
• Certification in CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are required; ongoing training is encouraged.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to engage children
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner.
• Patience is a must!
