Afterschool program Assistant

Position Type: Part-Time (Hourly)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM + Wednesdays (Half-Day) 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Follows the school calendar)

Primary Responsibilities

• Student Supervision: Maintain active supervision of students (grades PreK-K, or 1-8) to ensure their safety, security, and well-being at all times.
• Homework Assistance: Assist students with their homework, encouraging good study habits and providing academic guidance when needed.
• Activity Coordination: Lead and participate in recreational games, arts and crafts, outdoor play enrichment activities.
• Daily Operations: Manage student check-in/check-out procedures, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the program space.
• Communication: Maintain professional and welcoming communication with parents, school administrators, and staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children (in a school, daycare, camp, or parish setting) is highly preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication, patience, strong classroom management skills, and a positive mindset.
• Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it) is a plus.
