Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Afterschool Tutor to inspire and support students in their academic journey beyond regular school hours. Responsibilities

• Design and implement tailored lesson plans that align with students’ individual learning styles and educational needs
• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in core subjects such as math, science, English language arts, and test prep including SAT preparation
• Utilize innovative learning technology to enhance instruction and engagement during sessions
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse cultural backgrounds and varying learning abilities, including students with special education needs
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management techniques and encouraging communication
• Track student progress regularly and communicate updates to parents or guardians as appropriate
• Support the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, writing skills, and academic confidence in students

Skills

• Strong background in curriculum development with the ability to create engaging lesson plans across multiple subjects
• Proficiency with learning technology tools used for online instruction and interactive learning experiences
• Experience tutoring students in mathematics, science, English language arts, or test preparation (including SAT)
• Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction based on individual learning styles and educational needs
• Excellent communication skills for effectively working with students from diverse backgrounds and collaborating with parents or guardians
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques suitable for afterschool settings
• Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or extracurricular environments
• Ability to teach English language arts and support literacy development effectively
• Familiarity with special education strategies to support students with unique learning requirements
• Strong writing skills for developing instructional materials and providing constructive feedback

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
