Aged & Disability Support worker

Tendercare Disability Services is a dedicated disability and aged care service provider in the Townsville region committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and qualified Aged or Disability Carer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, you will provide essential daily care, nutritional management, and physical assistance to elderly individuals and people with disabilities, enabling them to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life within their homes and the local community.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation & Nutritional Support: Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meal stailored to clients' specific dietary requirements, cultural preferences, and health conditions (e.g., modified textures, diabetic diets, or allergen-free meals). Assist clients with eating and drinking where necessary.

Personal Care Assistance: Provide direct physical assistance with daily living activities, including showering, toileting, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.

Mobility & Transfer Support: Assist clients with mobility restrictions, using proper manual handling techniques and hoisting equipment to transfer safely between beds,wheelchairs, and vehicles.

Domestic & Household Support: Perform light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining a safe, hygienic living environment.

Community Integration: Accompany and transport clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, social outings, and community activities to prevent isolation. Medication & Care Monitoring: Assist with self-administration of medication, monitor general health status, and report any changes in physical or mental wellbeing to supervisors or medical professionals**.**

Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide strong emotional care, active companionship, and behavioral support tailored to individual care plans.

Reporting & Compliance: Maintain accurate, confidential digital progress notes and daily logs in accordance with NDIS and aged care quality standards.

Pay: $71,481.00 – $75,000.00 per year

Education:

• Certificate I - IV (Preferred)

Experience:

• disability support environment: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• Strong English communication skills (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• Blue Card (Preferred)
• Worker Screening Check (Preferred)
• Full Driver Licence (Preferred)
• Police Check (Preferred)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Preferred)
