Aged care support worker

About the role

We are seeking a caring, patient and reliable Personal Care Worker to live onsite and provide in-home support and companionship for an elderly person living with dementia. The role is focused on helping maintain a safe, comfortable and independent home environment, while providing respectful and compassionate day-to-day assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Providing companionship, reassurance and dementia-appropriate support
• Assisting with personal care, dressing and daily routines as required
• Preparing meals and assisting with household activities
• Medication prompting and supporting established care routines
• Accompanying the client to appointments, shopping and occasional outings
• Monitoring general wellbeing and communicating any concerns to the family
• Maintaining a safe and tidy home environment
• Providing assistance overnight when reasonably required

About you

• Warm, trustworthy, calm and genuinely enjoys supporting older people
• Previous experience in aged care or dementia care is strongly preferred
• Relevant aged-care qualifications, First Aid/CPR, police check and references are highly regarded
• Live onsite with private accommodation provided as part of the arrangement
