Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Agency Development Manager role based in Kolkata. The Agency Development Manager is responsible for developing and expanding the agency network by recruiting, onboarding, and nurturing insurance consultants and agency partners. Day-to-day activities include setting sales targets, monitoring performance, providing regular coaching and training, and driving business growth through effective field management and relationship building. The role involves analyzing market potential, supporting consultants with product knowledge and sales tools, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines, and implementing local business development initiatives. The Agency Development Manager collaborates closely with branch leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve sales objectives and maintain a high standard of customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong sales and business development skills, including experience in handling agency channels or distribution networks.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and manage teams of agents or consultants, with a focus on performance tracking and capability building.
• Proficiency in relationship management, communication, and negotiation to engage stakeholders and build long-term partnerships.
• Comfort with using digital tools, CRM systems, and basic MS Office applications for reporting, planning, and performance analysis.
• Prior experience in life insurance, financial services, or related sectors is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work in a target-driven environment and adapt to dynamic market conditions.
• Strong local market understanding of Kolkata and surrounding regions, with willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
