What they need

About us:

GO.FARM is an Australian-owned, high-conviction agricultural investor, developer and manager with a clear purpose: to transform Australian agriculture.

We identify underutilised and undercapitalised agricultural assets and reimagine them through land use change, investment in people, and adoption of climate-smart technologies. Our investment decisions and operations are underpinned by our Responsible Agriculture Framework, which guides our stewardship of natural capital, people and communities.

About the role:

Join our growing maintenance team at Sandmount Farms as a Mechanical Technician, supporting the servicing, maintenance, repair and reliability of our machinery, vehicle and equipment fleet.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills who enjoys practical, hands-on work.

In this role, you will:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding across farm machinery, vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and support practical, timely repairs.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and pre-season servicing programs that improve reliability and reduce operational downtime.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of tractors, horticultural equipment, tillage equipment, sprayers, planters, vehicles and other farm assets.
  • Identify equipment issues early, communicate maintenance requirements clearly and help develop practical solutions.
  • Maintain an organised, safe and efficient workshop that supports high standards of safety, productivity and workmanship.
  • Work closely with the farm team to improve equipment reliability, longevity and operating efficiency.
  • Assist with parts ordering, inventory management and accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintain service vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment to a high standard.
  • Use GO.FARM’s maintenance and safety systems to record completed work, equipment issues and follow-up actions.
  • Work collaboratively with employees, contractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, care for equipment and continuous improvement.
  • Carry out other duties as required.

About you:

You’re mechanically minded, enjoy practical problem-solving and take pride in understanding how machinery and equipment work.

You don’t need to be a qualified mechanic, but you do need strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, confidence working with equipment and the ability to identify faults and work through practical solutions.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical diagnostic skills.
  • Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing plant, machinery, vehicles or equipment.
  • Confidence identifying mechanical faults and working through practical solutions.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A practical, proactive approach and a willingness to help where needed.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and high standards of workmanship.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, dynamic team.

Why work for GO.FARM:

At GO.FARM, The GO.FARM Way shapes how we work, support each other and grow together. We’re serious about building long-term careers in agriculture and creating a workplace where people are challenged, respected, cared for and given opportunities to make a real impact.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Real investment in your development, including 5% of your annual salary dedicated to learning, because when you learn, we learn.
  • A values-led culture built on being humble, caring, respectful, courageous, curious, solutions focused, driven and fun.
  • Flexibility through enhanced leave options, salary sacrifice opportunities and competitive incentives.
  • Access to growth programs focused on building long-term careers and future leaders in Australian agriculture.
  • Wellbeing programs that support your financial, physical and mental health.

Ready to be part of something meaningful and help shape the future of Australian agriculture? Apply now and join us on the journey.
