AI Analytics Engineer

Our client is in the oil and gas sector. They are looking for an AI Analytics Engineer / AI Engineer to join their team. This role is a Direct Hire / Permanent / Full Time position. Position will be ONSITE . Candidate must be able to commute onsite to Denver, CO.

Position Summary:

As an AI Analytics Engineer / AI Engineer, you will own the designing, developing, testing, and maintaining of AI-enabled workflows, data models, dashboards, and reports that support data-driven decision making across the organization. You will partner with data engineers and technical teams to deliver AI and analytics products that are accurate, reliable and scalable to the upstream oil and gas portfolio teams. An analytics engineer should have a good understanding of the technical work in building these robust data models/analytics tools, oil and gas industry knowledge, and able to communicate & work in a fast-paced environment.

Position Duties:

• Collaborate with senior leadership, oil/gas teams, and operational personnel to understand how data and AI can help them achieve their goals in a more efficient and constructive manner
• Design, build, and optimize curated data models that transform raw, staged source data into analytics-ready outputs with our Databricks architecture
• Build AI/BI tools including reports, dashboards, AI pipelines/chats for both unstructured & structured data
• Perform quality and accuracy checks on AI and data pipeline outputs, and troubleshoot issues
• Document data processes and workflows and provide technical support and guidance to data users
• Research and evaluate new data technologies and trends and provide recommendations for improvement

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or another relevant field
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, digital transformation, business intelligence, or data engineering roles—ideally within the oil & gas industries.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization, BI platforms (Spotfire), and modern data architecture.
• Understanding of data processes including data modeling, orchestration, and version control
• Experience in Databricks or similar data platforms
• Experience in AI including foundational models (especially Claude and ChatGPT), and modern AI frameworks and concepts such as MCP, LangChain, agent frameworks, LLM-as-OS, OKF, etc.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and quality
• Strong understanding of business fundamentals, communication and collaboration
