AI & Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for an experienced AI & Machine Learning Engineer to develop, package, deploy and monitor production-ready AI solutions. You will work across modern model architectures, agentic patterns, retrieval-augmented generation and cloud-based model serving on GCP.

Location: Manchester, UK

Basis: 12-month fixed term contract

Key Responsibilities

· Develop AI and machine learning solutions using Python and PyTorch.

· Apply transformer architectures and agent patterns such as ReAct.

· Design and implement retrieval-augmented generation solutions.

· Package and serve models using containers, KServe and Vertex AI endpoints.

· Work with feature registries and model registries to manage the model lifecycle.

· Build CI/CD processes for model delivery and establish model monitoring and drift detection.

· Implement cost-efficient autoscaling and GPU scheduling.

· Support canary, shadow and A/B testing deployment approaches.

· Work with Docker, cloud databases and GCP services to deliver scalable solutions.

What We’re Looking For

· Strong Python and PyTorch experience.

· Good understanding of transformer architecture.

· Experience with agent architectures such as ReAct.

· Hands-on GCP knowledge.

· Experience with Docker and cloud databases.

· Practical RAG experience.

· Experience serving models through KServe or Vertex AI endpoints.

· Knowledge of feature and model registries, CI/CD, model monitoring and drift detection.

· Experience with autoscaling, GPU scheduling, canary and shadow deployments, and A/B testing.
