We are looking for experienced AI & Machine Learning Engineers to work on advanced technology programmes across Defence, National Security and secure environments.

These opportunities involve applying AI and Machine Learning to complex, real-world problems where performance, reliability and the ability to deploy technology into operational environments really matter.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across one or more of the following areas:

• Machine Learning and Deep Learning
• Applied AI
• Computer Vision
• Sensor Fusion and multi-modal data
• Signal Processing and Time Series
• Reinforcement Learning
• Generative AI and Foundation Models
• MLOps and production ML
• Edge AI
• Autonomous Systems
• AI Assurance, Explainability and Responsible AI
• Model deployment, monitoring and optimisation

Technical experience

Depending on your background, you may have experience with technologies including:

Python | PyTorch | TensorFlow | scikit-learn | NumPy | Pandas | Docker | Kubernetes | AWS | Azure

We are interested in speaking with candidates from both research and engineering backgrounds , particularly those who have taken Machine Learning models beyond experimentation and into production or real-world environments.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

Machine Learning Engineer | AI Engineer | ML Scientist | Applied Scientist | Research Scientist | Computer Vision Engineer | MLOps Engineer | Data Scientist | AI/ML Software Engineer

The opportunity

You could be working on programmes involving:

• AI-enabled Defence and National Security systems
• Computer Vision and object detection
• Multi-modal and sensor data
• Autonomous and intelligent systems
• Decision-support technology
• Deployment of ML models into operational environments
• Trusted, explainable and responsible AI
• Research and development of new AI/ML capabilities

Previous Defence experience is not essential for every position.

However, due to the nature of some of the programmes, candidates may need to be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance . Candidates already holding SC or DV clearance are particularly encouraged to apply.
