We are looking for an experienced AI Consultant / Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions within a major financial services environment. This is a hands-on AI engineering role focused on designing, developing and deploying enterprise-scale AI applications using Google Gemini, Open-Source Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agent Development Kits (ADK), Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement scalable Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions using Google Gemini and Open-Source LLMs.
• Build and optimise Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications using enterprise knowledge sources, embeddings and vector search technologies.
• Develop AI Agents, agent orchestration workflows and integrations using ADK, MCP and related frameworks .
• Build enterprise-grade Python applications, REST APIs, microservices and reusable AI components .
• Fine-tune, evaluate, onboard and operationalise foundation models to meet business requirements.
• Deploy and manage AI workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using cloud-native and container technologies.
• Implement MLOps practices , including model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, automation and lifecycle management.
• Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise requirements for security, governance, reliability, scalability and performance .
• Perform performance optimisation, observability monitoring, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for production AI systems.
• Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate AI use cases into production-ready solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance on AI engineering best practices.

Essential Skills

• Strong hands-on experience developing Generative AI, Agentic AI and LLM-based applications .
• Proven experience with Google Gemini and Open-Source LLMs .
• Advanced Python development skills, including enterprise-grade application development.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RAG architectures .
• Knowledge and practical experience with Agent Development Kits (ADK), Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI orchestration frameworks .
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices and distributed applications .
• Strong hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience.
• Experience implementing MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, model lifecycle management and automation .
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised AI deployments .
• Strong understanding of scalable, secure and production-ready AI architectures .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience within Banking, Financial Services, Insurance or other regulated industries .
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI or Semantic Kernel .
• Knowledge of vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB or pgVector .
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, model evaluation and foundation model onboarding .
• Understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, compliance and model risk management .
• Experience with AI security, prompt engineering, guardrails and model reliability .
• Experience implementing observability and monitoring for AI platforms .
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems and enterprise integration patterns.
• Exposure to data engineering, feature stores and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience leading technical architecture reviews and design discussions.
• Relevant Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Generative AI or Machine Learning certifications .
