What they need
AI Engineer – Applied AI, Automation & Systems
The One-Sentence Test
Can you identify a business bottleneck, determine whether AI should solve it, and independently build a secure, reliable solution that the team will actually use?
About Speak Your Way To Cash®
Speak Your Way To Cash® is a multiple-time Inc. 5000 company that helps experts, entrepreneurs, speakers, consultants, and executives turn their expertise into high-value corporate speaking, training, and consulting contracts.
We are growing quickly and generating more content, client activity, operational data, and internal knowledge than ever before. We need an implementation-focused AI Engineer who can transform repetitive work, disconnected information, and founder-dependent processes into scalable AI-powered systems.
This is not a research-only or prompt-writing position. You will be expected to build, test, launch, document, and improve real solutions.
Your Mission
Build the AI infrastructure, automations, internal tools, and intelligent workflows that help Speak Your Way To Cash® operate faster and scale without every decision, question, or process depending on the founder.
What Winning Looks Like
You are succeeding when:
- The team has a reliable, centralized AI-powered knowledge system for company information, policies, processes, and frequently asked questions.
- Repetitive administrative and operational work is replaced with well-designed automations.
- AI agents and workflows are connected to the company’s existing business systems.
- The team can find accurate information without repeatedly asking the CEO or other leaders.
- Every solution includes documentation, monitoring, safeguards, and clear ownership.
- AI projects produce measurable results, such as hours saved, faster response times, improved accuracy, or increased revenue capacity.
- You independently move projects from an unclear business problem to a working production solution.
Your First 14 Days:
Days 1–3: Business and Systems Audit
- Meet with company leaders and key team members.
- Review current tools, workflows, recurring questions, and operational bottlenecks.
- Identify where the team is losing time because information is scattered, tasks are manual, or decisions depend on the founder.
- Evaluate the company’s current use of tools such as GoHighLevel, Kartra, Asana, Google Workspace, email, CRM platforms, and other internal systems.
Days 4–7: AI Roadmap and Prototype
- Prioritize AI opportunities based on impact, urgency, complexity, security, and implementation time.
- Recommend which problems should use AI, standard automation, or a process change.
- Design the architecture for the first high-impact solution.
- Build and demonstrate a working prototype.
Days 8–14: Launch the First Solution
- Deploy the first approved AI workflow or internal tool.
- Test accuracy, edge cases, permissions, and failure handling.
- Create documentation so the system does not depend exclusively on you.
- Train the appropriate team members.
- Establish success metrics and a process for monitoring and improvement.
Day-14 Deliverables
By the end of your first 14 days, we expect:
- A written audit of the company’s AI and automation opportunities.
- A prioritized 30-, 60-, and 90-day implementation roadmap.
- At least one working AI-powered prototype or production-ready workflow.
- Technical and user documentation for the initial solution.
- Recommended metrics for measuring time saved, accuracy, adoption, and business impact.
What You Will Own:
Applied AI Systems
- Build practical AI agents, assistants, and internal applications.
- Use large language models to solve real operational, sales, marketing, content, and client-support challenges.
- Develop reliable prompts, structured outputs, tool-calling workflows, and multi-step agent processes.
- Evaluate when an AI solution is appropriate and when standard automation is the better answer.
Knowledge Systems and Retrieval
- Turn company documents, training materials, transcripts, policies, FAQs, and operating knowledge into searchable AI-ready information.
- Build retrieval-augmented generation and semantic-search workflows.
- Implement document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, citations, and access controls.
- Improve answer quality while reducing unsupported or inaccurate responses.
Automation and Integrations
- Connect AI workflows with company platforms through APIs, webhooks, and automation tools.
- Automate repetitive processes involving content, email, lead management, reporting, customer support, task creation, and internal communication.
- Build workflows that include human review when full automation would create unnecessary risk.
- Troubleshoot broken integrations and prevent silent failures.
Technical Development
- Write clean, maintainable code using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a comparable language.
- Work with REST APIs, databases, authentication, structured data, and cloud-based services.
- Develop lightweight internal applications, dashboards, or interfaces when needed.
- Maintain source control, testing, documentation, and deployment practices.
AI Quality, Security and Reliability
- Test accuracy, latency, cost, reliability, and usability before releasing solutions.
- Create evaluation datasets and repeatable testing methods.
- Protect confidential company, employee, client, and customer information.
- Implement appropriate permissions, logging, monitoring, fallback behavior, and human approval steps.
- Track model usage and control unnecessary AI costs.
Team Enablement
- Explain technical concepts in clear business language.
- Train team members to use the tools you build.
- Create simple instructions, walkthroughs, and technical documentation.
- Gather feedback and continuously improve adopted systems.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI-powered applications or automations used in a real business environment.
- Hands-on experience with large language model APIs, prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool calling, or AI agents.
- Strong programming ability in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a comparable language.
- Experience integrating systems through REST APIs and webhooks.
- Understanding of databases, data transformation, authentication, and application security.
- Experience building retrieval, semantic-search, or knowledge-management solutions.
- Ability to independently diagnose a business problem and translate it into a practical technical solution.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Excellent critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Reliable internet access and a professional remote working environment.
- Ability to work quickly without requiring constant instructions or follow-up.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation platforms such as Make, Zapier, n8n, or similar tools.
- Experience integrating AI with CRM, marketing, project-management, email, or customer-service platforms.
- Familiarity with GoHighLevel, Kartra, Asana, Google Workspace, or comparable systems.
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and AI evaluation frameworks.
- Experience working with a fast-growing startup, entrepreneur-led company, coaching organization, or digital-education business.
- Experience creating internal tools for nontechnical users.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment, monitoring, version control, and CI/CD practices.
This Role Is Hands-On
You will not spend your time simply creating strategy decks or recommending tools for someone else to implement.
You must be willing and able to:
- Investigate the problem.
- Recommend the solution.
- Build the solution.
- Test it thoroughly.
- Launch it.
- Train the team.
- Document it.
- Monitor and improve it.
The Pace
Speak Your Way To Cash® moves quickly. Priorities can shift, new opportunities appear, and the team cannot wait several weeks for every small decision.
You will need to be comfortable:
- Taking ownership with limited supervision.
- Asking focused questions and then moving forward.
- Working through ambiguity.
- Communicating risks and blockers early.
- Delivering functional versions quickly and improving them through iteration.
- Occasionally supporting urgent projects outside traditional business hours.
Who You Are
You are likely a strong fit if you:
- Prefer shipping useful solutions over endlessly discussing possibilities.
- Can explain AI to a business leader without unnecessary technical jargon.
- Are curious about how the entire business operates.
- Know how to balance speed with reliability and security.
- Test your work before handing it to someone else.
- Do not need the CEO to create your project plan or follow up repeatedly.
- Measure your success by business impact—not merely by how sophisticated the technology appears.
