This role is designed for someone who combines strong software engineering skills with expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to transform business challenges into practical AI solutions, contributing to the continued growth of Octane’s fleet management and digital payments ecosystem.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions to address business and operational challenges.
• Build and integrate AI-powered features into existing products, applications, and internal workflows.
• Develop, test, and optimize machine learning models based on business requirements and available data.
• Explore and implement generative AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs), where relevant to business needs.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, generate insights, and support intelligent automation.
• Collaborate with data and software engineering teams to prepare data pipelines and integrate AI models into production systems.
• Apply best practices in model evaluation, monitoring, security, and responsible AI implementation.
• Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning, or a related technical role.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, model training, evaluation, and optimization.
• Experience building and deploying AI or machine learning models in production environments.
• Familiarity with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Experience working with APIs, databases, data processing pipelines, and software integration.
• Understanding of data quality, model performance, scalability, and responsible AI practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
