AI Engineer (Angular, Node.js & AWS)

We are seeking an experienced AI FSE Engineer / Technical Lead to join a high-profile programme delivering modern, cloud-native solutions within a complex insurance environment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong full-stack engineering expertise alongside architecture and solution design experience.

The Role

As the Technical Lead, you will take ownership of solution architecture, technical direction, and delivery across a modern AWS-based platform. You'll work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders, and business leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and technical design activities
• Provide hands-on development across Angular and Node.js
• Drive delivery quality and technical best practice
• Design and build cloud-native solutions within AWS ECS/Fargate
• Own integration strategies and application architecture
• Support governance, compliance, and non-functional requirements
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across the team
• Contribute to CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering initiatives

Essential Skills & Experience

• 10+ years' experience in software engineering
• 5+ years' experience in architecture and solution design
• 5+ years operating as a Technical Lead
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
• Angular
• Node.js
• AWS (including ECS/Fargate)
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale applications
• Strong knowledge of General Insurance platforms and booking lifecycle processes
• Experience designing secure, scalable, cloud-native architectures

Desirable Experience

• Event-driven architecture and messaging solutions
• Contract testing practices
• Application performance optimisation and tuning
• AI-enabled solutions and modern engineering practices

• Solution Architecture documentation
• C4 Models
• High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates
• CI/CD pipelines
• NFR documentation packs
• Operational runbooks and support documentation

📍 Location: Dublin (Hybrid Working)
