AI Engineer (Full-Stack)

McGrocer Nigeria Limited is a cross-border commerce company. We ship to customers in over 150 countries.

We are looking for an AI Engineer to join our team and start building immediately.

What you'll do

• Build and scale our product catalogue and the data ingestion pipeline behind it — millions of products, updated daily.
• Build our compliance engine, which checks products against destination-country rules before an order ships.
• Work across the rest of the platform as it develops, including our AI layer.
• Own what you build and deliver it, working with our Engineering Manager.

What we need

• Strong TypeScript / Node.js. Comfortable across the stack, including frontend when needed.
• Experience building data ingestion or scraping systems at scale — millions of records, not thousands.
• Good PostgreSQL, including performance on large tables.
• Real experience building with AI, not just calling an API. You know where AI belongs and where a system must stay strictly rule-based.
• You can tell the difference between “it ran” and “it produced the correct result” — and you build the check that proves it.
