Role Overview

We are looking for an AI Engineering Manager who combines strong technical expertise, hands-on engineering experience, and effective people leadership. The ideal candidate has experience leading engineering teams, delivering production-ready software or AI systems, and using AI tools and agents to improve engineering productivity.

This role requires someone who can quickly understand business objectives, evaluate technical challenges, establish clear execution plans, and lead teams to deliver high-quality solutions while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand client objectives, business workflows, existing codebases, and team capabilities to establish a clear project direction.
• Develop and communicate structured execution plans, technical roadmaps, and delivery milestones to clients and engineering teams.
• Lead day-to-day engineering delivery, identify bottlenecks, investigate technical issues, and drive effective solutions.
• Stay hands-on with architecture, code reviews, debugging, and technical decision-making to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Leverage AI tools, coding assistants, and autonomous agents to improve development speed, automate workflows, and increase team productivity.
• Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions clearly and proactively to US-based clients.
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture through coaching, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Balance ambitious delivery goals with sustainable team performance and employee development.
• Mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders who can independently manage projects and engineering teams.
• Build strong client relationships through consistent delivery, technical excellence, and effective leadership.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering software or AI systems into production.
• Strong technical expertise with the ability to make sound architectural decisions, review code, and investigate complex engineering problems.
• Practical experience using AI tools, AI coding assistants, or autonomous agents to enhance individual and team productivity.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and ensure technical accuracy, reliability, and quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand business requirements, technical systems, workflows, and data.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with US-based clients and engineering teams.
• Experience creating clear project plans, communicating delivery milestones, and providing transparent updates on risks and progress.
• Demonstrated ability to coach engineers, build ownership, improve team execution, and incorporate feedback.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high engineering standards and sustainable team performance.
