What they need

Wriggle AI, part of Wriggle Marketing | Newcastle, North East England | Full-time

  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary: £40k to £48k DOE
  • Hybrid working (equiv. of two days per week in our Gosforth office)
  • Regular UK travel for on-site client audits

We're launching Wriggle AI and are looking for an AI Implementation Specialist to help us deliver it. In short, you'll go into a client's business, audit their systems and processes, and put together a practical AI implementation plan that saves them real time and makes the business run more efficiently. Wriggle AI is a brand-new service from Wriggle Marketing, so you'll be one of the first people working on it and will help shape how we deliver it.

Don't worry if you don't tick every box - we'd love to hear from anyone with relevant skills and experience, and we're happy to support with development.

About us

Wriggle Marketing is a Newcastle-based B2B digital marketing agency, trading since 2017. We work with engineering and manufacturing businesses across the UK on everything from web builds and branding to SEO and PPC.

Wriggle AI is part of Wriggle Marketing - our AI implementation service for the same sector. We're a practical implementer, not a software vendor - there's no platform. We find the workflows costing a business the most hours, build working automation around them, train the team, then stay on to run it. It's the same approach we already use to run our own agency delivery.

The role

This is a hands-on, client-facing role. You'll spend a day or more on site with a client, depending on the size of the business, sit with their team and watch how the work actually gets done - not just how people describe it. From there you'll score the opportunities, build the AI implementation plan and help get it up and running.

Any manual, repetitive process in a business is fair game. That could be technical documents, proposals and tenders, quoting, internal auditing, project and workflow delivery, or lead tracking - wherever skilled people spend hours on work a well-built automation could take off their plate. We configure established tools - Claude, ChatGPT, Notion and n8n - around the client's own documents and templates.

Supported by our Managing Director, Mitchell, you'll own the audit and plan from start to finish and report on the real-world time and cost savings for our clients.

Who we work with

Our clients are UK engineering and manufacturing firms of roughly 20 to 250 people. They're big enough that manual document work costs real time, but small enough not to have an in-house AI team. They typically have skilled people tied up in manual processes - documents, proposals, admin and tracking - that eat into time better spent on the work itself.

Part of this role is spotting where AI genuinely helps and where it doesn't. If an audit doesn't turn up a workflow worth automating, we say so plainly - so we need someone honest enough to tell a client that.

Key responsibilities

Discovery and audit

  • Run on-site discovery audits across the whole business, using our ask-then-watch approach to map every manual process - from proposals and technical documents to internal audits, project delivery and lead tracking
  • Capture where the time goes - hours per task, volume per week and cost per hour - so every recommendation has numbers behind it

Planning and recommendations

  • Score opportunities on impact and effort, and decide whether each one needs an off-the-shelf tool or a custom build
  • Write the AI implementation plan and present it to the client's decision makers in plain English, including quick "start this week" fixes

Build and go-live

  • Configure and test the right solution for each workflow - from off-the-shelf tools to bespoke LLM builds using n8n, Claude, ChatGPT and Notion - using the client's own documents, and prove it on real jobs before go-live
  • Explore self-hosted LLMs for clients with strict data, security or IP requirements, so sensitive documents never have to leave their own systems
  • Use AI to build simple apps for hardware - e-ink or LED displays, sensors, switches and touch points running on microcontrollers like a Raspberry Pi or ESP32 - so teams can see live data and control processes on the shop floor or in the office
  • Make sure data access is scoped to each workflow and agreed in writing before any build starts
  • Build up our library of reusable workflows and templates, so each new client gets up and running faster

Training, support and maintenance

  • Train client teams on the new workflows and make sure a person always reviews and signs off the output
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for clients' AI systems - monitoring live workflows, fixing issues quickly, updating them as tools and models change, and tracking time saved - so nothing quietly falls out of use six months later

Across Wriggle

  • Work closely with the wider Wriggle team, and contribute to Wriggle AI's own marketing through case studies and authored posts

What we're looking for

  • Experience in process improvement, business analysis, operations or consultancy, ideally in or alongside engineering, manufacturing or construction
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, beyond everyday use
  • Experience building automations in n8n, Make or Zapier, and comfortable working with APIs
  • Able to read basic code - Python or JavaScript is a bonus, not essential. Experience with prompt design, RAG or self-hosted models (such as Llama or Mistral) is also a bonus
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi, ESP32 or similar hardware, displays and sensors is a bonus
  • An understanding of data protection and GDPR, and how to keep client data secure when working with AI tools
  • Confident on site with everyone from shop floor to MD, asking the right questions and explaining technical ideas without jargon
  • Patient and clear when training non-technical teams, and happy to own ongoing support once a system is live
  • Data-led, with a habit of backing recommendations with hours, costs and percentages
  • Organised, with the ability to manage several client projects at once
  • Honest and practical - you'll tell a client when AI isn't the answer
  • A genuine interest in AI, keeping on top of new tools and models and testing what's worth using
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for on-site audits
  • We operate a hybrid working model, which requires you to be in our Gosforth office a minimum of two days per week when you're not on site with clients

What we offer

  • 24 days' annual leave plus an additional day on your birthday each year (bank holidays not included)
  • Payday lunches every month - and new starters pick where we eat that month
  • Teambuilding days - including Christmas and summer socials
  • Personal development - an agreed quarterly and yearly roadmap, clearly outlining objectives and opportunities to progress
  • Client referral bonus - we award bonuses for the successful introduction of new business
  • The chance to help shape a brand-new service from the ground up, with a genuine route to lead the Wriggle AI team as it grows
