As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced AI Lead / AI Engineer to drive the adoption, development, and integration of Artificial Intelligence technologies across the organisation. The Role

As our AI Lead / AI Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, implementing, and embedding AI technologies throughout the business. Working closely with Development, Product, Operations, Sales, and Leadership teams, you will identify opportunities where AI can improve products, streamline processes, enhance customer experiences, and increase operational efficiency.

You will play a key role in defining and delivering our AI roadmap, ensuring that emerging technologies are implemented in a secure, practical, and commercially beneficial way.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and lead the company's AI strategy and innovation roadmap.

· Identify opportunities to embed AI technologies into existing products, services, and internal business processes.

· Design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions to improve efficiency, automation, and decision-making.

· Evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and platforms and assess their suitability for business adoption.

· Collaborate with software development teams to integrate AI capabilities into current and future products.

· Work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and develop AI-driven solutions.

· Lead proof-of-concept projects and pilot initiatives to demonstrate AI value.

· Establish best practices for AI governance, security, compliance, and ethical usage.

· Monitor and measure the effectiveness and performance of AI implementations.

· Provide guidance, training, and support to colleagues on the use of AI technologies.

· Keep up to date with industry developments, trends, and innovations within Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

· Support bid, proposal, and customer engagement activities where AI solutions can provide value.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

Essential Skills & Experience

· Proven experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a similar technology-focused role.

· Experience implementing AI solutions within a commercial environment.

· Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Machine Learning, and AI-driven automation.

· Experience with Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI technologies, or similar AI platforms.

· Strong software development knowledge and understanding of modern development practices.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

· Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business solutions.

· Self-motivated with the ability to lead initiatives from concept through to delivery.

Desirable Skills

· Experience developing AI-enhanced SaaS applications.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI Services, and Power Platform.

· Experience with prompt engineering and AI workflow automation.

· Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and AI compliance requirements.

· Experience working with NHS, local government, or public sector organisations.

· Familiarity with Python, APIs, data integration, or machine learning frameworks.

Location

This role is based in Lichfield, Staffordshire, and applicants should be able to reliably commute to the office or be willing to travel when required.
