What they need
For over 40 years, our shared commitment to curing childhood cancer has united us. Together, we continue to accelerate the answers to make that possible. To accomplish our vision, we’re seeking someone who lives our values: owning and delivering meaningful work, collaborating to drive impact, challenging the status quo to create a better future, and balancing logic with empathy. Let’s achieve more, together.
The AI Security Analyst is a specialist role within the AI Operations team of Children's Cancer Institute (CCI), responsible for the security, governance, and compliance of CCI's AI tools, data platforms, and cloud environments. As CCI accelerates its AI rollout this role is critical to ensuring that AI adoption is matched by robust security controls and governance practices.
The AI Security Analyst works closely with the Head of AI Operations, CIO and Enterprise Risk team, and the outsourced managed services provider (Nexon) to maintain a secure, well-governed AI and technology environment.
To Succeed You Will Have
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft security administration — specifically Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender products.
- Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, large language models, and the security risks specific to AI agents, plugins, and automated workflows.
- Experience conducting security reviews or risk assessments of software, APIs, or automated integrations.
- Working knowledge of data classification, data loss prevention, and information governance principles.
- Ability to monitor security alerts, triage incidents, and produce clear documentation of findings and remediation actions.
- Strong written communication skills — capable of writing clear security policies, review reports, and risk summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative and detail-oriented, with the ability to work across teams including data governance, AI engineering, and outsourced providers.
We will support you to be your best with benefits that include but are not limited to:
- Working in a world-class, purpose-built facility, the only one in Australia dedicated to curing childhood cancer
- Focus on employee wellbeing, including up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year
- Access to Fitness Passport, with access to an extensive choice of fitness facilities across Sydney at discounted rates
- Corporate discounts and discounts on education through UNSW
Join us to shape a future every child deserves and to find meaning in your own. Because together, we can cure every child of cancer. It’s not if, it’s when.
We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion, as well as how you can enhance Children’s Cancer Institute and our culture. We embrace diversity and encourage you to advise of any reasonable adjustments you may need during the recruitment process.
