AI Security Architect

Northwest Partners is seeking an experienced AI Security Architect for an 8–10 week remote engagement with a leading financial services organization. This consultant will help define a Rapid AI Detection and Response (RAiDAR) strategy and operating model, with a focus on AI-driven security use cases, security architecture, automation, governance, and roadmap development. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience across AI security, security automation, detection and response, security orchestration, and enterprise security architecture. This role is focused on developing the strategy and framework for the program rather than hands-on engineering or implementation.

What You Will Do

• Define and prioritize high-value AI-driven security use cases for the RAiDAR MVP.
• Develop the overall RAiDAR strategy, security architecture, operating model, and roadmap.
• Define program scope, operating processes, and short- and long-term objectives.
• Help establish an inventory and identity strategy supporting AI-driven security operations.
• Define requirements for integrating telemetry across endpoint, identity, cloud, network, and AI/agent environments.
• Develop the detection engineering strategy and identify opportunities for behavioral baselines, anomaly detection, and custom monitoring.
• Assess how CrowdStrike can serve as a central orchestration point across the security environment.
• Define guardrails and decision frameworks for automated security response.
• Determine which security actions can safely be automated versus requiring human approval.
• Evaluate orchestration capabilities and identify integration or capability gaps.
• Define validation processes, success metrics, and measurable outcomes.
• Establish metrics around MTTD, MTTR, containment, operational adoption, and overall security effectiveness.
• Partner with internal security, engineering, and architecture teams to translate strategy into actionable requirements and recommendations.
• Provide strategic guidance on AI-enabled detection, response, automation, and security operations.

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, security engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in AI security, security automation, detection and response, or security architecture.
• Experience developing enterprise security strategies, architectures, operating models, or roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of modern security operations and detection and response capabilities.
• Experience with CrowdStrike / Falcon and enterprise security platforms.
• Experience with security orchestration, automation, SOAR, or automated response frameworks.
• Understanding of AI/ML security, AI agents, behavioral analytics, and AI-driven security operations.
• Experience integrating security telemetry across endpoint, identity, cloud, network, and application environments.
• Strong understanding of detection engineering and incident response.
• Experience establishing automation guardrails, governance, and human-in-the-loop decision frameworks.
• Ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into practical enterprise security use cases.
• Strong strategic, architectural, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with senior security and technology stakeholders.
