AI Software Applications Lead for Power Systems

For our client, we are seeking a AI Software Applications Lead for Power Systems to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This role will help shape the strategy and execution of AI-native software applications that support research-driven innovation in the power systems domain. The position will partner closely with leadership, technical stakeholders, and security collaborators to design scalable solutions that advance data analysis, simulation visualization, and user interaction. It will also play a key role in evaluating emerging technologies and guiding a technical product team toward impactful research and development outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to create a strategy for AI-native software applications
• Design and build AI-native software applications aligned with research objectives
• Architect and deploy frameworks for advanced data and simulation visualization
• Develop agentic frameworks for user interaction with software applications
• Create frameworks for testing and validating AI applications in the energy sector, ensuring security collaboration
• Explore new technologies to enhance AI and software applications, including potential partnerships
• Lead a technical product team to direct research and development efforts

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering focused on AI for Power Systems
• 3+ years of AI development experience, particularly with power systems
• Expertise in Query Orchestration for complex AI pipelines
• Strong knowledge of RAG architectures for AI-powered search
• Hands-on experience with Azure and HPC platforms
• Proficient in vector search, embeddings, and hybrid retrieval techniques
• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized deployments
• Strong Python skills for developing AI pipelines
