AI Solution lead

Ariad is currently looking for an AI Solution Lead for one of its key clients in the financial services sector in Brussels.

The opportunity

Our client operates in financial services, where its Analytics & AI team is expanding beyond marketing analysis into operational use cases. The team is strengthening its capabilities and moving towards more industrialised data science. As AI Solution Lead, you’ll guide complex initiatives from business scoping to deployment, while coaching colleagues and helping establish practical AI governance.

The sector

Financial services organisations are exploring how advanced analytics and AI can support business decisions and improve operational efficiency. At the same time, they must consider how to govern these initiatives responsibly and meet regulatory requirements, including the EU AI Act. This makes the work of turning promising use cases into robust, monitored solutions particularly important.

What you'll do

• Lead Data Science and AI use cases from business scoping and value assessment through development, deployment, adoption and monitoring.
• Challenge business needs, assess feasibility and define success criteria to inform prioritisation and investment decisions.
• Develop or oversee advanced analytics, machine learning and generative AI solutions, coordinating business, Data and IT stakeholders.
• Coach team members, review their work and promote robust technical practices.
• Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide AI governance framework aligned with Group standards and regulatory requirements.

What you bring

• A university degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent professional experience, and at least seven years’ experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or AI.
• Experience delivering solutions end to end, from business scoping through production and monitoring, with hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, Machine Learning, generative AI and MLOps.
• Experience acting as a senior technical reference, guiding colleagues, reviewing work and coaching less experienced team members.
• Ability to assess business value and feasibility, communicate clear recommendations and contribute to AI governance in a regulated environment.
• Fluency in English and either French or Dutch.

The assignment terms

• This is an independent contractor collaboration through Ariad, working with our client; it is not an employment position with Ariad or our client.
• Location: Brussels, at ALPHA CREDIT BUILDING, Rue Montagne du Parc 8, 1000 Brussels. The arrangement is hybrid.
• Start date: ASAP
