AI Solutions Consultant

Location: Remote/Austin, TX Preferred

Compensation: $100k - $130k/year

This compensation range applies to U.S.-based candidates. For candidates outside the U.S., compensation will be determined by location, experience, and market rates.

Duties

The AI Solutions Consultant delivers practical AI solutions to Novobi’s small and mid-market clients in the manufacturing, retail and distribution, and services industries. You will work across a portfolio of concurrent, project-based engagements. Extended placement with one client may occur from time to time; however, the standard pattern of the role is several concurrent client engagements.

Each engagement follows a consistent arc: develop a working understanding of the client’s operations and data, identify AI use cases with measurable value, design and build the solution on Novobi’s AI platform, train the client’s team, and transfer a solution the client can operate independently. Because our clients are smaller and engagements are correspondingly shorter, the role requires efficient discovery, disciplined scoping, and reuse of approaches proven on earlier engagements.

This is a hands-on role with direct client and executive exposure from the outset. You will work alongside Novobi’s engineering and platform teams as part of a newly established practice, with scope that expands as the practice grows.

You will report to the Head of AI Practice, and work closely with the consulting and engineering teams on client engagements.

The role suits candidates who combine strong business judgment with genuine, hands-on AI fluency, including recent MBA graduates and other early-career professionals with comparable capability.

Key Responsibilities

Client Discovery and Use Case Definition

• Develop a working understanding of each client’s operations, data, and workflows efficiently, without protracted discovery cycles.
• Identify and prioritize AI use cases that are grounded in specific business problems and achievable within the scope of a short engagement.
• Build trusted working relationships with client teams and executives across a portfolio of accounts.

Solution Design and Delivery

• Contribute to the architecture and design phase, translating business objectives into well-scoped AI solutions.
• Configure, prototype, and build solutions on Novobi’s AI platform in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Deliver in short iterative cycles, demonstrating working solutions to clients and incorporating their feedback.
• Manage several active engagements concurrently, maintaining quality and responsiveness across all of them.

Adoption and Enablement

• Train and coach client teams to use AI capabilities confidently and effectively.
• Drive adoption and support clients in measuring return on their AI investments.
• Transfer solutions in a condition that allows the client’s team to operate and maintain them following engagement closure.
• Promote responsible, secure, and well-governed use of AI.

Practice Development

• Capture proven approaches as reusable playbooks, accelerators, and assets so that a solution built for one client can be adapted quickly for others.
• Communicate client learnings to the product and engineering teams to inform platform development.
• Maintain current knowledge of developments in applied AI and bring relevant ideas to clients and colleagues.

Growth Support

• Support pre-sales through demonstrations, proofs of concept, and scoping for prospective clients.
• Contribute to the development of Novobi’s AI practice offerings.

Qualifications

Required

• 1 to 5 years of professional experience. A recent MBA or comparable graduate degree is welcome; exceptional early-career candidates without an MBA are encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated hands-on fluency with modern AI tools, including large language models such as Claude or ChatGPT, prompting techniques, agent frameworks, and low-code or no-code development, together with a self-directed approach to learning.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to connect technology to business value, operations, and return on investment.
• Ability to manage several concurrent short-cycle engagements, transition between client contexts efficiently, and maintain quality across a portfolio.
• Excellent communication and client presence, including comfort working directly with executives.
• Structured, analytical problem-solving and a consulting mindset.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a demonstrated bias toward action.
• Willingness to travel to client sites periodically.

Preferred

• Direct experience in manufacturing, retail and distribution, or service industries. This is a significant advantage, as these sectors form the core of Novobi’s client base and shape the operational problems you will work on.
• Exposure to ERP or business systems, with Odoo experience an advantage.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and SQL.
• Light scripting experience, for example in Python.
• Prior consulting or startup experience.

What Success Looks Like (First 9 Months)

• Within 3 months: contributing on several client engagements, and recognized as a trusted contributor by those client teams. At least one AI solution delivered into production use with measurable business value. At least one reusable asset contributed to the practice and applied on a second client engagement.
• Within 6 months: active client adoption across your portfolio, with documented return on investment.
• Within 9 months: expanded scope and ownership, including a leading role on at least one engagement.
