AI Tech Lead

Context

We are looking for an AI Tech Lead to contribute to the development of projects within a leading AI program. The role combines technical leadership of a cross-functional AI squad with hands-on design and delivery of end-to-end, scalable AI solutions in an Azure cloud environment.

Missions

• Lead and coordinate a cross-functional AI squad of up to 6 engineers, ensuring alignment on technical direction, priorities, and delivery timelines.
• Define and enforce technical standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines for AI solutions across the squad.
• Design and oversee the development of scalable backend systems and APIs supporting AI solutions on Azure.
• Drive the integration of advanced AI capabilities: mostly RAG, plus LLMs, speech-to-text, computer vision, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) as a plus.
• Architect and validate cloud-based AI solutions leveraging Azure services (Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, Azure Key Vault, Azure OpenAI).
• Conduct code reviews, technical mentoring, and upskilling of squad members.
• Act as the technical interface between the squad and stakeholders (Product Owner, Data Scientists, frontend developers, business teams).
• Monitor system performance, define reliability and observability standards, and ensure high availability of AI deployments.
• Maintain strong awareness of market trends in Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering, and translate them into actionable squad initiatives.

1. 7+ years of relevant experience
2. Experience in leadership of AI engineering squads
3. Proven ability in design and delivery of end-to-end AI solutions in cloud environments
4. Strong skills in RAG and Generative AI and prompt engineering
5. Expertise in backend systems and API development
6. Proficiency with Azure services including Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, Azure Key Vault, and Azure OpenAI
7. Experience with LLMs
8. Preferred experience with speech-to-text, computer vision, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
