Vilnius, Lithuania | Hybrid | €8,400 gross/month

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer to take ownership of the technical direction of a large-scale corporate banking platform used by hundreds of thousands of customers across the Nordics.

This is a backend-focused, hands-on technical leadership role combining software architecture, complex backend engineering, and end-to-end ownership. You’ll influence key technical decisions while remaining actively involved in development.

What you’ll do

• Own the technical architecture and direction of the product, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Stay hands-on with backend development, code reviews, and solving complex technical challenges.
• Design and develop resilient APIs, distributed services, and maintainable data flows.
• Drive engineering best practices across automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and code quality.
• Guide technical decisions and delivery priorities across the team.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and operational resilience requirements.

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer with ownership of technical direction and architecture.
• Strong backend development experience, ideally with C#, .NET Core, or similar technologies.
• Solid understanding of system design, distributed systems, API architecture, and scalable applications.
• Familiarity with modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, Vue, or other frameworks.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions and work with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, or operational risk in complex environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Knowledge of DORA, GDPR, or EBA guidelines.
• Experience integrating with legacy or core banking systems.
• Exposure to real-time data streaming or complex data visualisation.
