AI Technology Risk Manager

For our client, we are seeking a AI Technology Risk Manager to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on evaluating AI and machine learning risks across the model lifecycle, with an emphasis on governance, validation, and independent oversight. You will partner with risk, data, and technology stakeholders to strengthen controls around advanced analytics, including generative AI and large language models. The position is well suited for a professional who can balance quantitative rigor with practical risk judgment in a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $114,000 – $165,300 annually

Responsibilities

• Execute model risk assessments and validation activities for AI and machine learning models throughout their lifecycle
• Perform independent reviews of model design, intended use, and data suitability
• Assess model conceptual soundness and support appropriate validation and monitoring activities
• Evaluate emerging AI-specific risks, including bias, fairness, explainability, and misuse
• Develop, review, and maintain model documentation and inventory records

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in model risk management, model validation, AI/ML risk, quantitative risk, data science, or technology risk
• Hands-on experience with model risk assessments and validation of advanced analytical models
• Strong understanding of machine learning and AI technologies, including generative AI and large language models
• Knowledge of model risk management principles, data governance, and AI governance frameworks
