Aide/Amap

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aide/Amap to join our team, providing essential support and care to residents in a variety of healthcare and community settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. As an Aide/Amap, you will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity while fostering a warm and supportive environment. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about caregiving and committed to delivering high-quality support in long-term care, residential homes, or community-based services.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health stability
• Support residents with memory care needs, including those living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia
• Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals following proper protocols and documentation procedures
• Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
• Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury during transfers or repositioning
• Maintain accurate records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and document any changes in residents’ conditions or behaviors

Skills

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care environments is highly desirable
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory support strategies
• Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently in emergency situations
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and resident rights adherence
• Physical capability for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking; manual handling expertise is essential
