Machine Learning Intern (Speech / Audio Machine Learning Preffered)

HafizApp is looking for a motivated Machine Learning Intern with hands-on exposure to training, evaluating, fine-tuning, and deploying ML models. Experience with speech, audio, or language-related ML is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Train, fine-tune, test, and deploy ML models.
Work with large speech, audio, or language datasets, including preprocessing and quality checks.
Experiment with model parameters, hyperparameters, and tuning strategies.
Evaluate models using relevant metrics, compare experiments, and perform error analysis.
Support model monitoring, performance improvement, and basic data-drift detection.
Work with vocabulary, tokenization, pronunciation, phonemes, transcripts, and text normalization where relevant.
Maintain model versions, experiment results, and reproducible configurations.
Collaborate with engineering, product, annotation, and QA teams.

What We’re Looking For
Strong ML fundamentals, including training, validation, overfitting, and generalization.
Practical experience with model training or fine-tuning.
Understanding of ML evaluation metrics and error analysis.
Python and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.
Experience handling and preprocessing large datasets.
Basic understanding of model deployment and monitoring.

Preferred / Plus
Experience with ASR, speech-to-text, audio processing, pronunciation assessment, or speech ML.
Familiarity with Transformers, Hugging Face, pretrained models, and embeddings.
Understanding of WER/CER, tokenization, phonemes, transcripts, and sequence modeling.
Experience with Git, GPUs/cloud, containers, experiment tracking, or MLOps.
University projects, research, internships, Kaggle work, or ML portfolios demonstrating practical experimentation.

Education and Profile;
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in CS, AI, ML, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and experiment.
Able to document findings clearly and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
