About Zephyr Tech
Zephyr Tech is an MCS, NAPIT and RECC accredited installer of solar PV, battery storage and EV chargers across Sussex, London and the South East. We work for homeowners, businesses and care homes, and we’re growing fast. We’re now adding air conditioning and air-to-air heat pumps to our offer and need an experienced engineer to help build this side of the business from the ground up.

The Role
You’ll install, commission, service and repair air conditioning systems across domestic and commercial sites. You’ll work as part of our delivery team, pairing AC with our solar and battery installs to give customers low-cost heating and cooling powered by their own energy. This is a chance to shape a new division, not just join an existing one.

What You’ll Do

• Install split, multi-split and air-to-air heat pump systems in homes and businesses
• Install and maintain commercial systems, including VRF/VRV, cassettes and ducted units
• Carry out brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, refrigerant charging and commissioning
• Complete electrical connections and controls wiring for AC systems
• Carry out servicing, PPM and fault-finding on existing systems
• Survey sites, size systems and flag design or installation issues
• Keep accurate F-Gas records and complete commissioning and handover paperwork
• Hand systems over to customers and explain controls, apps and maintenance
• Keep the van stocked and tidy, and log job progress, photos and materials through our job management system
• Represent Zephyr Tech professionally on every site

What You’ll Need

• F-Gas Category 1 certification (C&G 2079 or equivalent)
• NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Level 3 desirable), or time served
• Proven experience installing and servicing split and multi-split systems
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Comfortable working at height and in all weathers
• Organised, reliable and good with customers

Nice to Have

• Commercial VRF/VRV experience
• Manufacturer accreditations (Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, Samsung or similar)
• Electrical qualifications (18th Edition or Part P)
• Air source heat pump experience
• Experience working in care homes or other occupied commercial buildings
• ECS or CSCS card, IPAF or PASMA
