Air Export Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Air Export Supervisor to oversee daily air export operations, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly and in line with customer expectations. The successful candidate will supervise the export team, maintain high service standards and support operational performance and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily air export operations from booking through to final dispatch.
• Lead, motivate and support the air export team, ensuring workloads and priorities are managed effectively.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of export documentation, including AWBs and customs paperwork.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customers and transport providers to ensure smooth shipment movement.
• Monitor shipment milestones, resolve operational issues and proactively manage delays.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, aviation security requirements and relevant industry procedures.
• Negotiate rates with airlines and suppliers, while maintaining cost efficiency and service quality.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity and service levels, implementing improvements where necessary.
• Handle customer queries and escalations, maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Support staff training, performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in air freight exports within a freight forwarding environment.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of air export procedures, documentation and customs requirements.
• Experience liaising with airlines, overseas agents and customers.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
• Good working knowledge of freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.
