AIRCON TECHNICIAN

This job is suitable for technicians servicing residential properties, commercial buildings, restaurants, offices, retail stores, hotel and other establishments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Clean and replace filters, coils, compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, and other HVAC components.
• Conduct system performance tests and recommend repairs or replacements when necessary.
• Check refrigerant levels, detect leaks, and recharge systems in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and occupational health standards.
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and inventory of tools and spare parts.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns.
• Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and clients regarding maintenance schedules and repair requirements.
• Keep work areas clean and ensure proper handling and disposal of refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
• Perform regular maintenance and servicing of air conditioning units, including cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs
• Install new air conditioning systems for residential and commercial properties
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with air conditioning systems, and carry out necessary repairs
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices
• Provide excellent customer service and liaise with clients to address their HVAC needs
• May require overtime, weekend, holiday, or emergency call-out duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational, or technical certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC or air conditioning installation and repair (preferred).
• TESDA NC II in RAC Servicing (or equivalent certification) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and HVAC service instruments.
• With valid driver's license is an advantage.
