Airframe Structural Analysis Engineer

Position Overview

• We are seeking an experienced Structural Analysis / FEA Engineer to perform stress analysis for new and existing aerospace airframe structures.
• This role supports the analysis of primary and secondary airframe structures, including design changes, structural sizing, and analysis of metallic and composite components.
• The engineer will use analytical and finite element methods to evaluate structural performance and support engineering and production requirements.
• Experience with NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperMesh, Abaqus, CATIA V5, and aerospace structural analysis is highly relevant.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Analysis

• Perform stress analysis of new designs involving primary and secondary airframe structures.
• Update existing structural analyses to incorporate design changes.
• Perform airframe primary structure layout and sizing.
• Conduct hand and Excel based analysis of aerospace structures.
• Evaluate structural performance using analytical and finite element methods.
• Support stress analysis of subsystems and subsystem installations.

FEA and Engineering Analysis

• Develop and evaluate finite element models using NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperMesh, or Abaqus.
• Perform structural analysis of aerospace components and assemblies.
• Support MRB stress analysis of metallic and composite structures.
• Review analysis results and provide technical input for design decisions.
• Support post processing and interpretation of FEA results.

Design and Drawing Review

• Interpret detail, assembly, and installation drawings and models.
• Review structural designs and models for analysis requirements.
• Work with engineering teams to evaluate design changes and structural impacts.
• Support integration of analysis results into aerospace structural designs.

Required Qualifications

• Recent Level 4 experience in aerospace structural analysis.
• Experience with airframe primary structure layout and sizing.
• Experience performing hand and Excel based analysis of aerospace structures.
• Strong experience with NASTRAN and PATRAN, HyperMesh, or Abaqus.
• Experience with CATIA V5 and 3DX is a plus
• Ability to interpret detail, assembly, and installation drawings and models.
• Experience with aerospace airframe structural analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TMP Vision for post processing.
• Experience with MRB stress analysis.
• Experience analyzing metallic and composite structures.
• Experience with subsystem and subsystem installation stress analysis.
• Familiarity with Slim, Vision, and IDAT.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with 3DX.

Pay: $80.00 - $120.00 per hour

Experience:

• Aerospace Structural Analysis: 7 years (Required)
