Airtel - Engineering Manager - Backend Technologies

Role : Engineering Manager. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and mentor engineering team to build products and services aligned for Airtel's growth.

This entails that you will solve problems and build, refactor and evolve overall architecture.

This will involve working on existing codebase and new projects.

Technical Expertise As an engineering lead, you will deliver on :

• Provide guidance on technical and functional aspects of project and take decisions.
• You will setup and execute best practices in application architecture, development, performance, deployment and execution by owning end-to-end business deliveries.

People Management

• Conduct performance review and setup constructive feedback loop for team members and build their succession plans.
• You will be responsible for allocating existing resources and hiring new for effectively meeting organizational goals and deadlines.

Project Management

• You will be part of overall planning and execution of engineering projects and ensure their timely delivery within the allocated budget.

Communication And Collaboration

• You will facilitate communication within the engineering teams and stakeholders including quality, operations, product and program to ensure alignment for business goals.
• You will address conflicts in teams and promote positive and productive working environment.

Innovation And Continuous Learning

• You will build culture of innovation and continuous improvement in your team.
• You will encourage and adopt new technology and emerging industry trends and methods for improving efficiency of your team.

• Java and related technologies including Tomcat, Netty, Springboot, hibernate, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Web services.
• Caching technologies like Redis, Aerospike or Hazelcast.
• Data storage technologies like Oracle, S3, Postgres, MySQL or Mongodb.
• Tooling including Git, Command line, Jenkins, Jmeter, Postman, Gatling, Ngnix/Haproxy, Jira/Confluence, Grafana, Kibana.
