All Round Operator / Excavator

About the role

Colemans Contracting & Earthmoving Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced All Round Operator / Excavator to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is based in the Darwin & Daly River Regionsand offers an excellent opportunity to work with modern plant and machinery across a variety of construction and earthmoving projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy plant equipment, including excavators and other machinery, with a focus on delivering safe, efficient and high-quality work on site. You will be a key member of our operations team, contributing to the successful completion of projects whilst maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other plant machinery in accordance with site specifications and project requirements
• Perform daily pre-start checks and maintenance on all assigned equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of equipment operation, fuel usage and maintenance activities
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, project managers and other team members to meet project timelines and quality standards
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to site-specific safety protocols
• Demonstrate flexibility in operating a range of plant and earthmoving equipment as required by project demands
• Report any equipment faults, safety concerns or incidents promptly to site management
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized and safe working environment on site

What we're looking for

• Possess a current HR HC or MC Licence.

• Relevant tickets and qualifications to operate machines

• Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety with a positive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with supervisors and colleagues

• The ability to work independently whilst demonstrating reliability and punctuality

• A proactive approach to problem-solving

• Physical fitness and the ability to carry out laboring if and when required

• A clean driving record and positive safety track record
