Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Alloy Development Technician to join our innovative materials engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and refining alloy compositions to meet rigorous industry standards and client specifications. Your expertise will support the advancement of alloy formulations through precise testing, analysis, and quality assurance processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge alloy research and manufacturing, ensuring the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability in our products. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive alloy testing using non-destructive testing techniques such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), penetrant testing, and X-ray inspection to evaluate material integrity.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly, fabrication, and testing procedures.
  • Perform quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to ASME codes & standards and safety protocols.
  • Collect and analyze data from various tests to assess alloy properties, composition consistency, and performance characteristics.
  • Utilize surface mount technology for component assembly where applicable, supporting the integration of alloy samples into larger systems.
  • Support engineering testing initiatives by preparing samples, operating specialized equipment, and documenting results meticulously.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment testing, calibration procedures, and inspection reports in compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on quality assurance initiatives to uphold product integrity through rigorous inspection techniques such as radiographic RT and ultrasonic testing.
  • Solder components or assemblies as required for experimental setups or prototype development while following safety protocols.
  • Assist in interpreting technical schematics and blueprints to facilitate accurate assembly and troubleshooting of alloy-related components.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with non-destructive testing methods including ultrasonic testing, radiographic (RT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), penetrant testing techniques, and X-ray inspection as a testing technique.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT) assembly processes is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices within manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with steel radiographic testing (RT) and ultrasonic testing for material evaluation.
  • Ability to collect data systematically and analyze results effectively to inform alloy development decisions.
  • Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to materials engineering and non-destructive testing procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong analysis skills for interpreting test results and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for data collection, reporting, and documentation purposes.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Commitment to safety protocol adherence during all testing activities involving potentially hazardous equipment or materials.

Join us in shaping the future of advanced alloys! Your expertise will drive innovation while ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety across industries worldwide.
