Duties

• Conduct clothing alterations and repairs on men’s wear, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments
• Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to achieve flawless finishes
• Operate pressing machines and press garments to ensure crisp, professional presentation
• Assist customers by providing expert advice on alterations and garment fitting needs
• Manage garment construction tasks for custom apparel production when required
• Handle various fabric materials with care, understanding their unique properties for optimal tailoring results
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including pressing areas and sewing equipment

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fashion retail or clothing alterations with strong garment sewing skills
• Knowledge of fabric materials, stitching techniques, and garment construction processes
• Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and press operation tools
• Ability to perform hand sewing for delicate or detailed adjustments
• Familiarity with men's wear tailoring and women's wear tailoring techniques
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating alterations accurately
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
