Duties

• Measure customers accurately to determine alterations needed, ensuring a perfect fit.
• Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify garments according to specifications.
• Perform garment construction tasks such as hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing clothing.
• Communicate clearly with customers to understand their preferences and explain alteration options.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and keep track of all garments in process.
• Ensure quality control by inspecting finished products for precision and durability.
• Assist with inventory management of sewing supplies and tools necessary for alterations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or tailoring within a fashion retail environment.
• Proficiency with sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques essential for precise alterations.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Basic math skills for taking measurements, calculating fabric needs, and adjusting patterns.
• Knowledge of fashion retail operations and garment fitting standards is highly desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
