AM Line Cook - FT

The Doubletree by Hilton Colorado Springs is hiring a full time AM Cook. The AM shift line cook prepares and cooks breakfast or lunch menu items, sets up and stocks the kitchen station, and maintains safety and sanitation standards.

Compensation:

$17 - $19 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Station Setup (Mise en Place): Arrive early to set up and stock your assigned station with all required tools, ingredients, and equipment.
• Food Preparation: Chop vegetables, slice meats, mix sauces, and pre-portion ingredients before service begins.
• Cooking and Execution: Cook menu orders (such as grilling, frying, or sautéing) accurately, following exact recipes and portion controls.
• Quality Control: Check food items for freshness, monitor cooking temperatures, and ensure consistent presentation for every plate.
• Cleanliness and Sanitation: Keep the workstation clean during service, properly store food using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation, and sanitize surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Team Communication: Communicate clearly with servers, other cooks, and the kitchen manager or expeditor regarding ticket times and order pacing.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, diner, or prep role.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with basic kitchen equipment, food safety guidelines, and standard cooking techniques.
• Reliability: Strong punctuality and dependability, especially for early morning opening shifts.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
