AM / PM Cooks

We are currently hiring for both AM and PM shifts, with opportunities for cooks who enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a little bit of everything.

We are looking for people who take pride in good food, enjoy working as part of a team, and can keep a positive attitude when the kitchen gets busy. Whether you have several years of kitchen experience or are looking to build your skills, we are interested in finding the right people for our team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Line Cook at The Hitching Post, you’ll help prepare and serve the food our guests come back for.

Depending on your shift and experience, your day may include:

• Preparing breakfast, lunch, or dinner menu items
• Working grill, fryer, flat-top, sauté, sandwich, or other kitchen stations
• Preparing steaks, burgers, chicken, breakfast items, pasta, appetizers, and other menu favorites
• Keeping your station stocked, clean, and organized
• Helping with basic prep between rushes
• Working together with other cooks to keep tickets moving
• Making sure food looks great and goes out hot
• Helping the kitchen get ready for the next rush or next shift

AM Line Cooks

Our morning cooks help get the kitchen started for the day and handle our breakfast and early lunch business.

AM shifts are a great fit for someone who:

• Enjoys breakfast cooking
• Likes starting early and getting off earlier in the day
• Is comfortable cooking eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, pancakes, French toast, sandwiches, and similar items
• Likes staying organized and preparing the kitchen for the day ahead

Some AM shifts may begin around 5:00 AM.

PM Line Cooks

Our evening cooks handle lunch and dinner service and help finish the kitchen strong at the end of the night.

PM shifts are a great fit for someone who:

• Enjoys a busy dinner service
• Has experience with grill, fryer, sauté, or similar stations
• Likes cooking steaks, burgers, chicken, pasta, appetizers, and entrées
• Works well with a team when tickets start rolling in
• Takes pride in leaving their station clean and ready for the next day

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
• Able to work well with others
• Proud of the food they put on the plate
• Able to stay organized during busy periods
• Open to coaching and learning new stations
• Willing to help teammates when needed

Previous restaurant or line-cook experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities

Weekend and some holiday availability is helpful.

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
