Key responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive the hospital ambulance for emergency and non-emergency patient transport
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and transport patients to and from healthcare facilities
- Assist medical personnel in safely loading and unloading patients
- Ensure the ambulance is clean, sanitary, properly equipped, and ready for use
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the ambulance
- Check and maintain basic vehicle supplies, equipment, fuel, and emergency tools
- Follow traffic laws, hospital policies, and emergency driving procedures
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance concerns immediately to the appropriate supervisor
- Assist patients and companions with courtesy and professionalism during transportation
