Employed: £18.00 per hour.

About the role

Help patients travel safely with care that respects their individual needs. LSA Secure Medical Services is a CQC-registered independent ambulance provider rated Good, delivering secure mental health transport, specialist transfers and event medical cover.

We are recruiting qualified ambulance technicians for employed roles and bank work. You will deliver care within your verified technician scope and support paramedic colleagues where required. What you will do

• Assess and monitor patients within your scope, recognise deterioration and escalate promptly to the appropriate clinician.
• Assist with treatment, safe moving and handling, patient transfers and clinical handovers.
• Support patients with mental health needs using calm communication, de-escalation and least-restrictive care.
• Maintain accurate records, safeguarding practice, equipment and vehicle readiness, infection prevention and incident reporting.

What you will bring

• IHCD Ambulance Technician qualification, Level 4 Diploma for Associate Ambulance Practitioners or equivalent accepted by LSA, with verified technician competence.
• FREC 3, FREC 4 or an ECA qualification alone does not meet this technician-grade requirement.
• A full driving licence valid in the UK including category C1 (essential), subject to driving and insurer checks.
• Recognised blue-light emergency ambulance driving qualification essential: CERAD Level 3, IHCD emergency driving or an accepted equivalent. Driving requires verified qualifications and LSA/client authorisation.

Clear communication, compassionate patient care and willingness to complete induction, mandatory training and competency assessments. NHS ambulance, HDU or secure transport experience is desirable.

Working arrangements and support

Based at Lower Mount Farm, Long Lane, Cookham SL6 9EE, with travel for patient journeys. Contracted hours are agreed before appointment. All shifts are 12 hours and may include nights, weekends and bank holidays. Bank work is not guaranteed.

Induction and role-specific training, including safeguarding, mental health care and prevention and management of violence and aggression (PMVA). Free on-site parking and workplace pension subject to eligibility.
