American Food Service Worker

Job Summary

Coastal Kitchen & Bar is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused American Food Service Worker to support daily food service and restaurant operations. This role assists with food preparation, order assembly, food and beverage service, supply restocking, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate works well with others and helps provide guests with timely, professional service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing ingredients and assembling menu items according to established procedures.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating, and packaging as needed.
• Help prepare and serve American-style restaurant dishes and beverages.
• Ensure food orders are accurate, complete, and presented properly.
• Deliver or distribute completed orders to the appropriate service areas.
• Assist guests with basic menu questions and service requests.
• Restock ingredients, utensils, containers, napkins, condiments, and other supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen areas, counters, service stations, and workspaces.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces, tools, and equipment according to procedures.
• Follow food handling, storage, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Monitor supplies and notify supervisors when items need replenishment.
• Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house team members to support timely service.
• Handle food, equipment, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and supply deliveries as assigned.
• Help maintain proper food quality, presentation, and order accuracy.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
• Communicate service issues, supply shortages, and equipment concerns to supervisors.
• Support coworkers during busy service periods.
• Follow restaurant policies and established food service procedures.
• Perform other food service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, restaurant, kitchen, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
