American Restaurant Associate

Job Summary

South City Kitchen Midtown is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused American Restaurant Associate to support daily restaurant operations and provide an excellent dining experience. This role involves assisting guests, handling orders, supporting food and beverage service, maintaining clean work areas, restocking supplies, and collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house team members.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide courteous, professional service.
• Assist with taking food and beverage orders accurately.
• Support the preparation and service of American-style menu items, appetizers, entrées, sides, desserts, and beverages.
• Help with food preparation, portioning, plating, packaging, and order assembly as needed.
• Check orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper presentation.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, ingredients, and beverage options.
• Communicate special orders and dietary requests to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with point-of-sale transactions and customer payments when assigned.
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas, counters, service stations, and workspaces.
• Clear and reset tables to help maintain a neat and welcoming restaurant environment.
• Restock food supplies, beverages, utensils, napkins, containers, and other service items.
• Support kitchen staff, servers, hosts, and other team members during busy service periods.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle food, equipment, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Communicate guest concerns, supply shortages, and service issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
• Help maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and order accuracy.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout each shift.
• Perform other restaurant service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, dependable, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.

South City Kitchen Midtown provides a restaurant dining environment focused on food service, guest hospitality, and a welcoming customer experience. The team works together to maintain efficient daily operations, consistent service, and clean, organized work areas.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
